I have an ACR122U NFC smartcard reader that I use with Linux Mint 17.1 and Kubuntu 15.04. This is a quick guide on how to get the reader working from a clean install of Mint or Kubuntu.
With Mint 17.1 I have found that the TrackPoint doesn't work completely out of the box - the mouse buttons for the TrackPoint act as scrollers rather than left and right click buttons.
With my ThinkPad T450s running Mint 17.1, I have found that Bluetooth is always turned on by default when booted, regardless of whatever changes I make to the Bluetooth adapted in the System Settings panel.
I've recently installed Linux Mint on my Thinkpad T450s. After installing Mint I noticed that the screen was constantly on full brightness and I couldn't change the brightness using the function keys. With this solution you can adjust the brightness, and ensured that the settings are remembered on restart.
